Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo still doesn't know when he'll be able to play, but there are two things he's certain of: he'll be back this 2021-22 and write “one of best comeback stories ever.”

Oladipo is still recovering from the quad surgery he underwent early in his start with the Heat last season. After being acquired by Miami at last campaign's trade deadline, he only played four games for the South Beach franchise before undergoing the season-ending procedure.

For what it's worth, Oladipo did say he's doing better now and that he's optimistic he'll be able to suit up for the Heat sooner rather than later. He has been medically cleared to do just “super light stuff, nothing crazy.” However, while he noted that he is progressing well after two injury-riddled seasons, the 29-year-old admitted that it has been really tough as well.

“This is another battle in the books for me. I want to show my resiliency and have one of the best comeback stories ever. I want to make the most of my situation. It’s easy to quit and say ‘woe is me,’ but that doesn’t solve the problem. I know there are a lot of eyes watching. Hopefully, I can be a vessel for them and show them they can get through anything if they really put their mind to it,” the Heat guard added, per Barry Jackson of Miami Herald.

The Heat certainly have high hopes for Victor Oladipo, and they will certainly be happy to see him in a good place physically and mentally after the frustrating years he had to endure because of injuries.

Oladipo signed a prove-it deal with the Heat in the offseason, a one-year contract that is worth roughly around $2.4 million. Considering all that he has been through, it's pretty clear he's more than motivated to bounce back and show everyone what he can do when healthy.
