Charlotte Hornets All-Star point guard Kemba Walker becomes the first player to reach the 10,000 points plateau in franchise history. See the video below posted by the official Twitter account of the NBA for the historic moment of the Hornets' franchise.

In usual Kemba fashion, he made his way to history through an acrobatic lay-up, plus the foul from Miami Heat's Josh Richardson. In their 113-112 hard-earned road win over the Heat, Walker poured in 39 big points, racked up 7 assists, and hauled in 5 rebounds. The spitfire guard also waxed hot from deep, draining seven of his fifteen attempts from beyond the arc.

The 28-year old scoring point guard is indeed on a mission this season. In what could be an opportunity to further boost his stock for his impending free agency in 2019, Walker has been averaging 35.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, while shooting 50% of his 3-point shots across the Hornets' first three games.

Looking like a man-possessed, Walker could also be pumped up by the rumors that the Hornets have been making him available in trade negotiations. With uncertainties clouding Walker's decision to stay with the team in 2019, the Hornets could be thinking of trading the All-Star this year compared to getting nothing if Kemba walks away in free agency.

Still, Walker has been the face of the franchise for so long. But the Hornets front office needs to convince Walker to stay by surrounding him with a solid supporting cast, and another superstar. Walker could be entering the last few years of his prime, and there's no surprise if the All-Star opts to sign with a contending team in 2019.
