There are many different routes the Texans can go, but the most efficient way to rebuild is through the trenches. Houston should highly consider focusing on building the offensive and defensive lines, as it will allow this team to control the game upfront. There are a ton of benefits for this team if they choose to focus on this area in the NFL offseason.

Houston is dealing with a troubled Deshaun Watson but might have gotten lucky in drafting Davis Mills. He proved to be reliable with his opportunities and the Texans should focus on building the offense around him. Furthermore, we should see two big trades go down for this team, as Brandin Cooks and Deshaun Watson could be dealt soon.

With that said, here are four bold Texans offseason predictions.

Texans Offseason Predictions

4. The team focuses on the trenches in the offseason

Having a great offensive line goes a long way. Houston would have incredible pass protection while controlling the clock in the run game. Considering the state of this roster, building up the offensive line makes the most sense moving forward.

Additionally, the upcoming NFL Draft is stacked with players who excel in the front seven. The Texans struggled on defense but could make a huge leap in production with better defensive line play. Look for this to possibly be a top priority throughout the offseason.

3. The front office builds around Davis Mills

There aren't too many exciting quarterback prospects this year and Davis Mills showed flashes of potential. It's unknown how good Mills will be, but he deserves a chance to be the starting quarterback for the Texans. He gives Houston the flexibility to focus on nearly every other area on the field, strengthening the roster as a whole.

2. Houston trades Brandin Cooks

Brandin Cooks is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. He does nothing but produce and will make an impact next year. With the Texans rebuilding, trading Cooks now makes incredible sense. A contending team should show plenty of interest in trading for the veteran receiver. Houston could get a nice return of draft picks, which they desperately need.

1. Texans successfully trade Deshaun Watson during the NFL Draft

Of course, there are concerns regarding his legal issues and there is no clear sign of it ending soon. Regardless, Houston is in line to trade Watson. The best time to do that will be during the NFL Draft. Hopefully, for them, Deshaun Watson clears his name and gives the Texans a massive haul in a trade package.

We'll see how it plays out. There is no guarantee that Watson even plays next year, as he could be suspended, or, found guilty in a criminal charge that could yield jail time. All eyes are on the Texans right now, as Deshaun Watson will become a highly sought-after trade target if he can clear his name. If not, then Houston might be stuck with him and his large contract.
