Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson's bout with his sexual assault cases is far from over. At this point, a major problem is brewing for Watson's camp with his criminal case now getting intertwined with the civil cases he's also been dealing with.

Right now, anything the Texans QB says while under oath in his civil cases can be used against him during the proceedings of his criminal case. ESPN Radio's Mike Meltser, who also happens to be a licensed attorney, provided a blow-by-blow account of Watson's hearing on Monday. According to the sports radio host, Watson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, has advised his client NOT to take the stand in his civil case hearings up and until his criminal case sees a resolution:

In layman's terms, whatever Watson says now could put him in even more trouble later on. He's in between a rock and a hard place at the moment and it is becoming increasingly clear that he could face major consequences if he is proven guilty of his alleged crimes.

This is also going to be a big problem for Watson and his future in the NFL. His court proceedings — the criminal case, in particular — is not expected to get wrapped up before teams from around the league make their roster decisions for the 2022 season. By the time Watson's criminal case comes to an end, it's very much possible that the majority of the quarterback openings would have already been filled.

It's a tough road ahead for Deshaun Watson.
