When it rains in Florida, it pours. As if losing to the 5-8 Los Angeles Chargers 45-10 wasn't enough, the Jacksonville Jaguars witnessed their No. 1 wide receiver, D.J. Chark, leave the locker room of TIAA Bank Field on a scooter, via Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

Chark left the 35-point loss early with a left ankle injury. The fact that he wielded a scooter along with a protective boot warrants concern. He tallied nine receptions for 75 yards on the day.

In his second year in the NFL, Chark has thrived as a go-to target for either Nick Foles or Gardner Minshew. On the season, he has 67 receptions for 956 yards and eight touchdowns.

Chark, a former LSU Tiger, is a 6-4, 198-pound speedster. Once thought to be a core special teamer, the 23-year-old has blossomed into not only a competent option in the Jaguars' offense but a reliable one.

Though Jacksonville doesn't boast offensive prowess, Chark is a player that inflicted fear into opposing defenses. His game has progressed in all levels, while his size and speed remain to make him a tough guard.

If out for an extended period, Chark will be sorely missed in the Jaguars offense. His production would likely be replaced by DeDe Westbrook, Chris Conley or Keelan Cole. Neither of the three has shown upside as quality cogs in an offense, but not as a No. 1 target as Chark had grown into.

On Sunday, Westbrook finished second in receiving for the Jaguars, tallying six receptions for 25 yards. Tight end Nick O'Leary caught the lone Jacksonville touchdown of the day.
