Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone has made it clear who's to blame for the team having trouble running the ball and it's not Leonard Fournette. Marrone said he has seen the problems rushing the ball and he thinks it's because of the offensive lines inability to create a push.

“I feel like we aren’t giving Leonard a chance,” Marrone said via ESPN. “Things are happening too close to the line of scrimmage or even on our side of the line of scrimmage. I think the first thing we have to emphasize is creating that push or being able to get into the line of scrimmage before something happens.”

Against the Titans, Fournette had 15 carries but only six of them went for positive yards and a lot of that has to do with the line.

Per ESPN Stats & Information, Fournette is averaging only 1.8 yards per being contacted which means he is getting hit basically right when he gets to the line of scrimmage.

“We’re not doing a good enough job up front,” Marrone said. “And I have no issues with how Leonard’s working and trying. I think he might be trying too much because of the frustration. I think that he has the ability to be a great player, but we have to do a much better job all-around, both coaches, myself.”

Fournette is a special talent but if he is getting contacted in the backfield, no running back is going to have much success and it's no different for the former LSU star.
