The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently monitoring the Jadeveon Clowney situation, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN.

At the beginning of free agency, Clowney was demanding a multi-year deal worth around $20 million per year. However, six month later, Clowney still hasn't come to agreement with a team. Russini of ESPN also reported today that the Tennessee Titans and the New Orleans Saints are both making strong pushes to sign Clowney.

Nevertheless, this past week, the Jaguars  traded defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Minnesota Vikings. Furthermore, earlier this offseason, they traded Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens. So with that being said, the Jaguars desperately need another veteran defensive end on their team.

In August, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone was asked if he plans to add another defensive tackle to their response. Here's what he said:

“I think that there’s opportunities from now throughout the start of the season where you can acquire players, whether it’s the other players’ positions that are loaded on some teams,” Marrone said during a video press conference.

Adding Clowney to their defense that already consist of  Josh Allen and K’Lavon Chaisson, will certainly improve their overall defense. Furthermore, Clowney will bring a much needed veteran presence for the Jaguars' defense.

Clowney is known as one of the premier pass-rushing linemen in the NFL, despite his low stats last season with the Seattle Seahawks. The 27-year-old recorded 31 combined tackles, 13 quarterback hits, three sacks, and one interception with the Seahawks.

The Jaguars are slated to play their first game of the season on Sept 13. against the Indianapolis
