Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette is questionable to return to their Week 1 matchup against the New York Giants due to a hamstring injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The second-year back suffered the injury during the second quarter. He entered the medical tent and was soon taken to the locker room for more medical attention.

Prior to his exit, Fournette had totaled 41 rushing yards on nine carries against the Giants. He also had 14 yards on three catches.

TJ Yeldon is filling for Fournette in at running back. Yeldon had 22 yards on three carries in the first half, and also had the team’s first touchdown of the season after hauling in a one-yard catch as the Jags went into halftime with a 13-6 lead.

Obviously, Fournette's loss would be a big blow to a Jaguars offense which is highly reliant on him and the running game.

But given Fournette's significance to the team, it seems unlikely that the team will opt to risk exacerbating that hamstring injury by bringing him back unless they are entirely sure that it is not as serious as once feared.

Luckily, the excellent Jaguars defense is playing well once again and will be tasked with protecting their narrow lead.
