The Jacksonville Jaguars have a franchise-altering decision to make with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and they have been linked to a slew of the Class of 2022's top prospects. As draft day inches closer, a frontrunner is beginning to separate himself from the pack, according to rumors. Per Thor Nystrom, a source close to Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson says the EDGE rusher is confident that he will be the Jags' pick at No. 1 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, citing the interactions he's had with the team of late.

That's a pretty bold stance for Hutchinson to be taking, but it seems he's confident that he'll wind up joining Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville as part of the rebuild in East Florida. Hutchinson would be an excellent selection for the Jaguars at No. 1 overall, as he's coming off a tremendous season at Michigan and is widely considered to be the top EDGE rusher in the class, slightly ahead of Kayvon Thibodeaux out of Oregon.

Hutchinson would immediately slot in on the EDGE in Jacksonville where he'd have the chance to get after the quarterback and help improve the team's defense from Day 1.

Other players the Jaguars have been linked to atop the draft include Thibodeaux, Alabama's Evan Neal, Georgia's Travon Walker, and NC State's Ikem Ekwonu. Despite the connections to those players, it seems as if Hutchinson may be leading the pack.

Last year at Michigan, Hutchinson racked up 36 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 14.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 pass defenses in what was a breakout season for the 21-year-old, who could very well be the future face of the Jaguars defense.
