Utah Jazz point guard Dante Exum has a torn patellar tendon in his right knee and is out indefinitely.

Exum suffered the injury on Thursday at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This is a tough break for Dante Exum, who returned from a serious left ankle injury on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Exum had been out of action since Jan. 5.

Exum's season is likely over. He averaged 6.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this season for the Jazz while shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 29.0 percent from beyond the arc and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Exum tore the ACL in his left knee a few years back. Now, he'll have to rehab his right knee. Hopefully, the guard can come back from this and be ready for next season.

The Jazz are 39-29 on the season, which is good for sixth place in the Western Conference standings. The team has been without Exum for majority of the season, so they should be able to cope with this loss.

Utah selected Exum with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He has career averages of 5.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 204 games with the Jazz.

Dante Exum is making $9.6 million this season.
