In the midst of a strong start to the campaign, Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson has recently admitted that he has his sights set on this season's Sixth Man of the Year award.

According to Clarkson, bagging the coveted title has been on his mind even before the season started:

Clarkson has been on a tear for the Jazz, putting up averages of 17.7 points (career-high) on 48.5 percent shooting (career-high), 4.6 rebounds (career-high), 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals, while also connecting on 3.1 triples (career-high) per game on a 41.8-percent clip (career-high). He's been doing so in 25.3 minutes off the bench, as the 28-year-old has established himself as an early-season favorite for the Sixth Man of the Year crown.

Clarkson joined the Jazz in the middle of last season after being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The change in scenery has since worked wonders for the 6-foot-4 combo guard, and it goes without saying that he's currently having the best stint of his career in Utah. For his contributions to the squad, the Jazz rewarded him with a four-year extension worth $52 million back in November.

Clarkson and Co. are in action on Saturday as they take on a surging Golden State Warriors side. The Jazz have themselves been on a bit of a hot streak, having won seven consecutive games. Utah, who currently sits at the third spot in the Western Conference with an 11-4 record, will look to make it eight straight against the Dubs, and Clarkson will have a huge role to play for his team on Saturday.
