Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic thought he had one over Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert on Friday at Vivint Arena, but he was sadly mistaken. The Stifle Tower put his Inspector Gadget arms to full use, as he beautifully recovered after getting deceived by a pump fake by the Slovenian.

Doncic launched a floater but Gobert erased that attempt in his second jump. The Jazz social media team shared the highlight and encouraged Jazz fans to vote for the towering center in the 2021 All-Star Game.

The Utah Jazz is the hottest team in the league right now, winning their last 10 consecutive games prior to Friday's hosting of the Mavs. Rudy Gobert has a lot to do with that, anchoring the Jazz's interior to perfection. Luka Doncic, of course, is as slick as they come but even he couldn't get past the ridiculous wingspan of the 7-foot-1 Frenchman.

In 18 games for Utah this season, Gobert is producing 13.5 points on 60.2 percent shooting from the field, along with 14.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks. He is coming off a monstrous 29-point 20-rebound night in the Jazz's previous win over the Mavs in their last outing. At this point, defenders are already thinking twice when attacking the paint whenever Gobert is lurking around.
