Rudy Gobert won't be heading to Atlanta for the All-Star festivities by his lonesome. He's going to be joined by teammate Donovan Mitchell, who was also voted as part of the reserves team, as well as head coach Quin Snyder, who himself will have the honor of coaching team LeBron team after leading the Jazz to the best record in the West (and the league) so far this season.

Gobert recently admitted, however, that he's actually looking forward to facing off against his current coach come All-Star weekend:

“It would be fun to be on Quin's team, but it would also be really fun to be against him,” Gobert said, via Ben Anderson of KSL Sports. “Regardless, I think we're going to talk hopefully a little trash, try to get Quin to get a technical or something.”

Do we smell a little bad blood here? Kidding.

Because of the league's decision to move on from the East vs. West narrative, Gobert could very well be selected on Snyder's opposing team. Snyder will be coaching Team LeBron, and if Kevin Durant opts to select Rudy Gobert on his team (the Brooklyn Nets star will still captain the team and select his players despite being forced to sit out the game due to injury), then the former back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year will get his wish of playing against Snyder.

Whatever the case may be, we should expect fireworks from the upcoming All-Star Game. The players will be traveling to Atlanta for the festivities — despite some qualms — so they're likely going to make it worth their while (and ours as well).
