Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Nash knows a thing or two about being an underdog. This is exactly why the three-time NBA champion coach had a bit of advice to impart on the Utah Jazz, who themselves have emerged as one of the most underrated sides in the league today.

According to Kerr, it all boils down to winning a championship:

“They're kind of where we were five years ago, nobody's gonna believe until they do it,” Kerr said, via Ben Anderson of KSL Sports. “And so all they have to do is use that chip and and that edge and keep doing what they're doing and put themselves in a great spot.”

Sound advice from coach Kerr here. It wasn't too long ago that the Warriors weren't even considered as a threat in the NBA. That all changed, of course, when they won their first championship in 2015.

While there's no denying that Kerr has Utah's best interest in mind here, it's also hard to overlook how he has taken a bit of a veiled shot against the Jazz. Because of his statement, we are all reminded that this Jazz team still has so much to prove. They may be the owners of the best record in the NBA right now, but until they win a championship, this will all be for nothing.

Utah takes on Kerr and the Warriors on Sunday in a matchup that should prove to be a formidable test for the league-best Jazz as well as their title aspirations this term.
