The 23-year-old guard has been dealing with an apparent left ankle injury and was only cleared for practice recently, per Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. Exum participated in Salt Lake City's closed practice today on a rehab assignment, as part of his final stage in return to play protocol. He's averaging 7.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game this season.

Jazz head coach Quin Snyder discussed the nuisance it's been trying to make adjustments with the team's ongoing injuries this year.

“It’s as much a part of the NBA season as anything else. That’s where other guys gotta be prepared to adjust, play more, play slightly different roles,” Snyder told Walden. “It’s something that we’ve ran into — we ran into it early with Donovan. We want everybody to be healthy, but that’s not always the case. The one thing I will say — our guys, as far as their training and their recovery process, we’re controlling abut as much as we can control with respect to those things. And sometimes there’s things that are out of your hands, and they happen, and you just have to adjust.”

The Jazz still remain in playoff contention with their 37-28 record, good for sixth in the Western Conference standings.

Dante Exum has averaged just 6.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in his four NBA seasons. Whether or not he can live up to being a top-five selection remains to be seen.
