NBA fans rejoiced when legendary shooting guard Dwyane Wade announced that he would return to the Miami Heat for one final season instead of opting for retirement.

While Wade might be on the last leg of his career, he has plenty of basketball wisdom to pass on to younger, up-and-coming stars.

In order to do this, Wade hosted the “Dwyane Wade Invitational,” and it was full of these budding stars. C.J. McCollum, Jimmy Butler, and Donovan Mitchell were all in attendance to chat and train with Wade.

The group played pickup games and one-on-one sessions with multiple drills and conditioning sessions, ensuring they would all be in game shape when the regular season starts in a few weeks.

The time spent training with one of the best was invaluable to the youngsters, especially Mitchell, who has drawn comparisons to Wade after an impressive rookie season.

Both players are extremely aggressive with the ball in their hands and are sneaky quick, darting in and out of lanes for silky floaters or acrobatic finishes at the rim.

Mitchell worked with Wade on nailing down the finer points in his game and is determined to improve off his fantastic debut season.

Per Eric Woods of the Desert News, Mitchell declared that;

“I’m going to be training with any NBA great possible that I can get in contact with just to pick their brain. This isn’t a victory lap summer. It’s been a great year, but in my head there’s a lot more to work on.”

With Wade's help, it wouldn't be a shock to see Mitchell skyrocket to stardom.

It's nice to see that Wade isn't content with just coasting in his last season in the NBA. By sharing his basketball knowledge and skills, he's ensuring that we will see a new wave of superstars.
