Game 7 between the Denver Nuggets and the Utah Jazz ended with a whirlwind of a sequence, with the Nuggets emerging as the victors in this series-clinching contest. The Jazz came extremely close to stealing the series, though, with Mike Conley's last-second shot just missing by a few inches. A new video has surfaced, however, that a Rudy Gobert blunder should not have given the Jazz a chance at a final shot in the first place.

In the clip below, you could clearly see the Jazz big man stepping on the baseline after securing the defensive rebound:

The referees missed that call and allowed play to continue. Conley was able to take a final attempt that would have won the game for the Jazz, which ended up rimming out.

Not even the Denver players or the coaching staff (presumably) caught that mishap, so just imagine what would have happened if Conley made that game-winner. The Nuggets would have been outraged once they set eyes on this clip, and it would likely have been too late to contest the play in question by that point.

All is well that ends well, I guess. The Nuggets still came away with the victory, and have now set up a second-round meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals. Game 1 of that series is scheduled for Wednesday.

A shout out to the Jazz for a tremendous series, but in the end, they will still be heading home now empty-handed.
