People who own National Football League franchises are really just billionaires who never grew up. A good recent example of this is the rift between Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank. These two older white men are, apparently, not on the best of terms.

Due to the entire “Jones has gone rogue on the rest of the owners” dilly in regard to contract talks with the league's commissioner, on Sunday, the two avoided each other like each had the plague. No pregame handshake or murmuring of meaningless words. Just hatred in the form of silence.

Jerry Jones somewhat played down the entire thing, although, he wasn't above being petty enough to mention how strange it was that he didn't meet with Arthur Blank at all.

“I’ve had games where I didn’t visit [with the opposing owner before a game] for whatever the reasons,” Jones said, via Todd Archer of ESPN.com. “But it’s rare.”

A team staffer told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that it’s customary for the home owner to seek out his guest and Blank did not.

The Falcons whooped on the Cowboys last weekend. I guess that is worth noting, as we are all here more for the play on the field, and less so for the older people being mad over old people stuff.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for both teams, but probably not as interesting as seeing Jones attempt to change the entire structure of power in the league office.
