The New York Jets have had a very busy offseason, and one of their top acquisitions was bringing in wide receiver Jamison Crowder to join a receiving corps that already includes Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa.

Crowder is expected to play in the slot, much like he did during his tenure with the Washington Redskins.

Jets head coach Adam Gase is excited about the addition of Crowder and thinks he will play a very important tole in New York's offense.

“That spot is important to us,” Gase said of slot receivers, according to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News. “(It) really kind of creates the tempo of the offense. If you want to be on the ball and go fast-paced, that guy is the guy who moves all the time. … He has to understand the game like a quarterback does. The best ones I’ve been around, they naturally have that understanding of the flow of the game. They know how to set the tempo of the game. I feel like he’s kind of a guy who fits that role.”

Crowder played in just nine games this past season due to ankle issues, catching 29 passes for 388 yards and a couple of touchdowns. However, prior to 2018, Crowder was a very productive wide out for the Redskins.

In 2017, the 26-year-old hauled in 66 receptions for 789 yards and three scores. His best season, though, came in 2016, when he snared 67 balls for 847 yards while reaching the end zone seven times.

Crowder entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick out of Duke in 2015.
