New York Jets head coach Adam Gase expressed his displeasure with the team's performance through the first two weeks of the season Sunday afternoon following the Jets' lackluster performance against an ailing San Francisco 49ers squad.

Speaking with reporters in his post game media availability, said he's “pissed.”

“I’m pissed right now,” Gase said, per Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “That s–t is no fun, going out there and getting your a-s beat. So we need to get better fast.”

Only in his second year with the New York franchise, the 42-year-old coach was hired following a lackluster stint along the sidelines in Miami, primarily for his ability to generate offense and grow, what the Jets' front office had hoped, would be the quarterback of the future in former third-overall pick Sam Darnold.

Despite a late-season burst that saw New York go 6-2 in their final eight games—getting them to a respectable 7-9 record on the year—the Jets finished last in offensive DVOA, with Darnold erratic in his attempt to limit turnovers and improve an accuracy rate that have often been the main stumbling block in his attempt to maintain success.

That the Jets have scored a meager three touchdowns combined in the first two weeks of action, with their quarterback struggling to hit above 60 percent of his targets, will only intensify the pressure on Gase to fix an issue for which he sold himself as being the panacea.

With New York's postseason hopes quickly shrinking, despite an expanded playoff field, the Jets may ultimately decide to cut bait on both Gase and Darnold, in pursuit of highly prized quarterback prospect Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 draft.

Unless he finds a way to quickly turn things around, Adam Gase may find he isn't the only member of the organization pissed at the Jets' performance.
