Amid the ongoing 2021 NFL Draft proceedings, former NFL veteran Bart Scott immediately trolled New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson who was referred to as a “blue-collar, self-made guy” on ESPN Radio. He then expressed his disagreement with the statement by hilariously commenting about Wilson's affluent uncle in business tycoon David Neeleman who reportedly served as the former CEO of JetBlue Airways.

The Brazilian-American businessman is a significant figure in the airline industry as he reportedly established four other commercial airlines namely Azul Brazilian Airlines, Breeze Airways, Morris Air, and West Jet (not to be confused with the New York Jets). He is also a 45% stakeholder in a Europe-based airline company in TAP Air Portugal.

Neeleman spent most of his childhood in Utah where his nephew Zach Wilson was also raised and eventually attended college in nearby BYU before being selected by the Jets. The 21-year-old recently concluded his three-year amateur career with the Cougars from 2018 to 2020. In his most recent campaign, he amassed a total of 3,692 passing yards on 247 completions to go with 33 touchdowns through 12 games played.

Wilson's stellar showing in the past season allowed him to emerge as one of the highly-touted prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was then selected with the second overall pick by the Jets who are set to groom him as their future franchise quarterback moving forward.

Heading to his rookie season, high expectations are already being set on Zach Wilson as he is expected to turn around a Jets organization that has been underperforming in recent years. Hopefully, he will get to play with a chip on his shoulder as he aims to showcase his talent and prove that he is indeed an NFL-caliber talent in the years to come.
