The New York Knicks failed to take down the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Playoffs. It was a heartbreaking loss as injuries plagued the roster much through the postseason. That bad luck even struck in Game 7 when Jalen Brunson suffered a hand injury, as he was pulled from the contest early.

With that said, morale is low in New York. During the postgame press conference, Jalen Brunson delivered a blunt one-word reaction to the Knicks entire season. To put it simply, Brunson does not view the 2023-24 season as a success.

The Knicks finished the regular season with a 50-32 record and clinched the No. 2 seed of the Eastern Conference. They played well all season long and even looked fantastic early on in the playoffs. But the injuries were too much for New York to come back from and it was evident in the series against the Pacers.

Jalen Brunson will likely make a full recovery by the time next season starts. So, that's good new for the Knicks moving forward. However, the front office must find a way to find more star players to help Brunson. Acquiring one more star player could do this team wonders, as New York would suddenly have stud playing alongside Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. On top of that, guys like OG Anunoby and Donte DiVincenzo would largely benefit as high-end role players.

Losing in the postseason is never easy. Especially for the Knicks who haven't won a championship since 1973. New York should be back in the mix next season but the front office must make sure to build a playoff-caliber roster that compliments Jalen Brunson.

Jalen Brunson's future outlook

Jalen Brunson is a superstar point guard. There is no other way to look at it. So, his career outlook is amazing. Especially with him playing in a big market like New York. If he continues this level of play we should be seeing Brunson in the NBA Hall of Fame one day.

Hopefully, he remains with the Knicks for the remainder of his career and he can win at least one ring before it's all said and done. But that's largely out of his control as winning a championship is a team stat. But overall, Jalen Brunson is going to be great for a long time.

We'll see if the Knicks can pick up another star during the offseason. For now, the players are going to enjoy the offseason and go on vacation. But Jalen Brunson will likely get back to work sooner, rather than later. Once his hand heals we should see clips of Brunson practicing and preparing for next season.
