It was revealed on Friday that Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns could be discussing a massive extension this offseason. While congratulating Garrett, Jamal Adams took a shot at the New York Jets for their lack of action on his own contract.

Both Garrett and Adams were taken in the 2017 NFL Draft. Garrett was taken with the No. 1 pick in the draft by the Cleveland Browns, while Adams was selected by the Jets with the No. 6 pick in the first round.

In his first three seasons with the Browns, Garrett has solidified himself as one of the premier edge rushers in the NFL, tallying a total of 30.5 sacks since 2017. Therefore, he absolutely deserves a lucrative extension from Cleveland this offseason. But so does Adams.

Since joining New York, in a league that values versatile safeties, Adams may very well be the most versatile one in the league. The All-Pro has accounted for 273 tackles, 25 pass breakups and two interceptions. In addition to those numbers, Adams has also contributed 12 sacks and six forced fumbles in his first three seasons.

Due to the production he's had thus far, Adams has been interested in signing an extension with the Jets. At first, it appeared that New York was in the same boat, being open to the idea of signing Adams long-term.

However, nearly a month ago, contract talks between Adams and the Jets were stalled. Instead, Adams has been linked more frequently to trade rumors than to getting a big-money deal from the team. While New York has been quiet in their talks with Adams, the gifted safety is making it loud and clear what he desires.
