New York Jets quarterback Josh McCown will once again be under center for the team as they prepare for a Week 13 showdown against the Tennessee Titans.

According to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Rich Cimini, McCown is in line to take over for a third straight game with rookie quarterback Sam Darnold sidelined for another week.

Darnold has not played since injuring his right foot in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins.

The rookie has thrown for 1,934 yards this season to go along with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

During Darnold's absence, McCown has gone 0-2 as the starter as the Jets have suffered a 41-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills and a 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots.

McCown threw for 411 yards and a touchdown in those two games but struggled to take care of the ball in throwing three interceptions.

This week's matchup against the Titans may not be much easier, even with Mike Vrabel's team in the midst of a two-game losing streak.

Tennessee has allowed its two opponents – Indianapolis and Houston – to score 34 or more points, so perhaps that's a positive for McCown and company entering Sunday's game in Nashville.

However, it's largely been a disappointing season for the Jets, which has resulted in plenty of unknowns surrounding Todd Bowles' job security.

The Jets have struggled to a 3-8 record on the year, and the schedule doesn't get much easier with remaining games against the likes of Houston, Green Bay, and New England.

Next up after the trip to Tennessee is a visit to Buffalo to face the Bills.
