The New York Jets managed to secure an impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys thanks to an inspired performance from Sam Darnold. Plenty of Jets fans are happy with his emphatic comeback, and Le'Veon Bell shared the team's delight at his play.

The running back talked with New York Daily News about Darnold's return to the team and how satisfying it felt to have their QB1 back in the pocket.

“It’s a lot different having your guy in there,” said Le’Veon Bell, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown. “He’s the leader of the offense…. When you miss that for a few weeks, it’s tough…. I said he wasn’t rusty in practice. I watched him. He’s a special player.”

Darnold put on an inspired display of football in his first game since contracting mono in Week 2. He was accurate on the field, completing 71% of his passes. He finished with 338 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a high QB rating of 113.8.

The second-year QB expressed the team's hunger for a win. He shared that he's happy they got things done in his first game back.

“We were starving for a win,” said Darnold, who went 23 for 32 for 338 yards and two touchdowns in his first game back. “To come out here and do it in the fashion that we did (with) the defense getting a huge stop on the two-point conversion. I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

They will be facing a tough opponent in the New England Patriots for Week 7. However, they will surely put on a battling performance now that they have their star QB back in the rotation.
