The New York Jets have high hopes heading into the 2019 campaign as a result of a busy offseason that saw New York land big names such as running back Le'Veon Bell, wide receiver Jamison Crowder and linebacker C.J. Mosley.

However, the NFL has not exactly done them many favors with their schedule. At least not in terms of where the Jets' bye week lands.

New York is just one of four teams to have its bye week scheduled before Week 6, with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions representing the other three, as Jason Guilbault of Lineups.com points out.

And you know what the worst part is? The Jets have the earliest bye week in football, as they will have their off week in Week 4.

So, out of 32 teams in the NFL, New York was one of only two to draw the earliest bye week possible.

That's rough.

It's not like the Jets' opponents are all that easy, either.

While Gang Green will open up its season with a rather easy home game against the Buffalo Bills, New York will then play host to the new and improved Cleveland Browns the following week before a road date with the New England Patriots going into the bye week.

Then, coming out of the bye, the Jets will stay on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles before returning home to battle the Dallas Cowboys. And after playing the Cowboys? New York will face the Patriots yet again.

Sheesh.

I guess we'll know very early on just how much the Jets actually improved this offseason.
