The New York Jets and their 2-8 season has taken another turn with good news and bad news. Of course, since Jets fans are used to disappointment, here's the bad news first. Most recent starting quarterback Joe Flacco was placed on the COVID-19/Reserve list along with his backup quarterback Mike White. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, White tested positive for the virus and Flacco was deemed a close contact.

The good news is, the team's original starting quarterback Zach Wilson is set to return for Week 12. The Athletic Jets reporter Connor Hughes tweeted that Wilson is expected to start on Sunday “per source.”

Wilson hasn't taken snaps for the Jets since Week 7 in New England. New York fell to the Patriots 54-13 and Wilson suffered a sprained PCL (knee) in the second quarter.

Things seem to be looking up for Wilson, though, which is good news for the Jets organization. After drafting him second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Wilson was supposed to be their answer to winning football games.

The organization is continuing to work on him as their longtime quarterback and even recently hired extra help to get him on the right track. During his time in PCL recovery, the Jets hired Wilson's personal quarterback trainer to help with his development.

The Jets face the Houston Texans on Sunday, who also hold the burden of a 2-8 record. This could truly be either teams' game, especially if Wilson's recovery and development over the past few weeks comes to fruition.
