Sam Darnold put on an impressive display to help the New York Jets win over the Dallas Cowboys. It was a fantastic return after spending four weeks out due to mono.

The second-year quarterback is happy to have returned in top shape against the Cowboys. He shared that he felt like himself in his first game back for the team, as shared by Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper.

“Yeah, I definitely felt like myself out there, especially after the first play to DT, that pass I made to DT, I knew we were going to have a good game offensively,” Darnold said at his press conference.

He also shared that he didn't feel any discomfort during the game, adding to the delight the Jets fans are already feeling at the moment.

“I took a few shots but it didn’t effect me at all and the pads worked great, super light but also protected me well,” Darnold said. “It was good out there.”

Darnold put on a signature performance that Jets fans will remember for a long time. He finished the superb win with 338 passing yards and two touchdowns. While he did throw an interception, his 72% pass completion rate gave him a fantastic 113.8 QB rating.

This performance from their QB1 should give the Jets a much-needed confidence boost. They are definitely going to need it as they are set to face the New England Patriots in Week 7. They have a chance to pull off an upset with the way their quarterback performed in his first game back.
