The New York Jets got a much-needed boost after taking down the Giants, their MetLife Stadium neighbors, to the tune of 34-27. Sam Darnold and the offense managed to outplay their opponents just enough to get the win.

The team is understandably ecstatic with the win after going through a painful losing streak that saw them lose the three prior games they played. Spirits are high, and Darnold told Brian Costello after the game that they’re always gunning for the best result they can find.

It’s daring for Darnold to say that the team is still in the running to make the playoffs. They’ve been playing poorly for much of the season, and it’s only a matter of time before they’re officially out of playoff contention given the teams they’re yet to play this season.

Their toughest opponents remaining in their schedule include the Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers. If they don’t manage to finish all of those games with a win, they can kiss their playoff hopes goodbye.

However, it isn’t like they don’t have a shot at winning these games at all. Darnold is showing improvement in his performances after a middling rookie season. He has 1077 passing yards and 6 touchdowns after five appearances.

Moreover, he has capable playmakers in the team. Le’Veon Bell, Jamison Crowder, and Robby Anderson are great options on offense. The defense is struggling but showcased shreds of resilience against the Giants.

It will be a tough remainder of the season for the Jets. They have to play perfectly if they want to make the playoffs, and Jets fans will be praying that does happen.
