New York Jets coach Todd Bowles is having a rough go of it lately. With his team's roster not exactly filled with playoff-level talent, depending on who you ask, he is either a great coach doing more with less or a guy who should be shown the door at the season's end.

Nevertheless, Todd Bowles remains firm in trying to help the Jets achieve a level of competence. Then again, according to the coach himself, there's an issue.

Having to discipline several players over the course of the season, Bowles was asked if it would have its desired result.

“Time will tell. You earn trust,” Bowles said. “They’ve earned a lot of trust. You make a mistake, and you lose a little trust, and you just have to earn it back. So going forward, we’ll go from there.”

Linebacker Darron Lee was left out of the lineup for the first time this season this past weekend. Lee confirmed his change in role was due to a violation of team rules, reportedly a late arrival to practice on Saturday. Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson joined him on the sideline in the first quarter after being later to a team meeting.

During the Monday presser, Bowles was asked several questions about Wilkerson. He said he wasn’t going to “sit here and discuss my players in the media,” but he claims he still considers the defensive end a team leader.
