New York Jets star defensive back Jamal Adams has been pretty adamant about wanting to leave the team. He has essentially demanded a trade, with a number of teams making his final list.

This has led to a lot of rumors. What exactly has pushed Adams over the edge to the point he's so desperate to move on?

To be fair to Adams, one report linked defensive coordinator Gregg Williams saying he has safety's back.

Via Robby Sabo of JetsXFactor.com, though, offensive lineman Alex Lewis has already disputed another report calling the locker room out on head coach Adam Gase, taking to social media to call out the reporter for the accusations.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News came out with a report that Adams had his issues with Gase. In fact, the report was that a lot of people in the Jets locker room do not respect the coach.

However, Adams’ discontent runs much deeper than simply finances. The Jets’ best player does not want to play for Gase anymore for myriad reasons, according to sources.

The prevailing sentiment in Gang Green’s locker room is clear: Players don’t respect Gase, who has rubbed them the wrong way with his inability to lead and lack of support. The mercurial head coach also drew the ire of a litany of players during his tenure with the Miami Dolphins.

Lewis did not mince words. He wants Mehta to give his sources, believing that the team never actually had anyone saying this.

That's not all though, Lewis also calls out Mehta. He calls the writer a “poison” to the team.

Lewis is far from the first player to have his issues with the journalist. So it is not that crazy to hear him call out Mehta. The words were certainly strong though.

At the same time, this opens up a whole different discussion. What is actually going on here? Are there any players that have lost the respect of the coach? It's hard to know unless we actually have named sources.

So far, the only one coming out on record is Lewis, and he says that the report is untrue. Due to that, you have to believe that the players haven't lost their respect for Gase.
