UFC 301: Alexandre Pantoja vs. Steve Erceg continues on the prelims with a fight in the lightweight division between Joaquim Silva and Drakkar Klose. Silva is coming off a dominant performance in which he won via unanimous decision his last time out meanwhile, Klose brutally slam KOed his last opponent giving him his third win in a row. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Silva-Klose prediction and pick.

Joaquim Silva (13-4) dropped a short-notice opportunity against top-ranked lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan last year but then he was able to get back on track after he dominated lightweight veteran Clay Guida in his next bout. Silva is looking to keep the momentum going when he takes on streaking lightweight Drakkar Klose this weekend at UFC 301.

Drakkar Klose (14-2-1) picked up where he left off before having surgery and a long layoff by brutally slamming Joe Solecki into next Tuesday after a failed armbar attempt. Klose will be looking to extend his winning streak to four and get his ninth victory in the UFC when he takes on Brazil's Joaquim Silva this weekend at UFC 301.

Why Joaquim Silva Will Win

Joaquim Silva jumped at the opportunity to take on surging contender Arman Tsarukyan last year. He had some moments where he rocked Tsarukyan at one point but he ultimately succumbed to his grappling losing via TKO ground-and-pound in round three. Silva was able to get back on track in his next after dominating UFC veteran Clay Guida throughout three rounds to win via unanimous decision. Now, Silva will look to get back on a winning streak when he takes on Drakkar Klose this weekend at UFC 301.

Silva is as well-rounded as they come and while he has a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu he likes to stand his ground and throw hands with the opposition. He has exceptional power in his strikes as we've seen when he had Arman Tsarukyan on skates in their fight and if he gets into a firefight with Klose he can certainly put his lights out with one shot. Klose is notoriously hard to put away but in that fight with Beneil Dariush, he isn't susceptible to getting knocked out. It is up to Silva to dictate where this fight takes place and if he can land a thunderous right hand he can sit Klose down and put him away extending his winning streak to two wins in a row.

Why Drakkar Klose Will Win

Drakkar Klose was lined up to fight Mark Madsen back in October 2022 until he tore his ACL having to withdraw from the fight. Due to his ACL tear, he had to get surgery to repair it which had him on the sidelines since July 2022. However, Klose came back with a vengeance back in December 2023 when he brutally slammed Joe Solecki knocking him out in just a little over a minute into round one. Now, Klose who is riding a three-fight winning streak will be looking to extend his winning streak to four when he takes on Joaquim Silva this weekend at UFC 301.

Klose has been one of those under-the-radar fighters in the lightweight division with wins over Joe Solecki, Bobby Green, Lando Vannata, and Marc Diakiese just to name a few. He now has an 8-2 record inside the Octagon and will be looking for another big victory that can push him toward a fight with a ranked opposition after this weekend. Klose much like Silva is very well-rounded but he does his best work on the feet where he has six wins by knockout. He has the power in his strikes that makes him a dangerous matchup for Silva. Klose will be looking to land thunderous calf kicks and heavy hooks until Silva can't take the punishment any more. As long as Klose can avoid the power shots from Silva and keep this fight upright we could potentially see another finish on our hands.

Final Joaquim Silva-Drakkar Klose Prediction & Pick

This fight has fireworks written all over it. Both Silva and Klose will be looking to take each other's heads off right from the jump. While Silva has the power to knock Klose's block off, it will be Klose who will be the one getting the better of the exchanges on the feet. Ultimately, these two will be coming forward looking to land the kill shot but it will be Klose who will be mixing up the target and as he hammers the lead calf of Silva he then will start to find his range eventually landing the knockout blow and extending his winning streak to four this weekend at UFC 301.
