On Monday morning, the NBA announced the selections for both All-NBA Defensive teams for this past season.

One of the names left coming up short in the voting was Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall, who received 38 total votes with 14 coming in the way of nods for the first team. In light of that, Wall voiced his displeasure concerning the result via social media.

Wall is the first player in league history average at least 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. This includes 2.o steals per game, which was the second-highest in the league behind only Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green, who received his third straight nod on the All-NBA Defensive First Team.

The 26-year-old also led all point guards in the regular season with 157 steals and 49 blocks, but that didn't help much in the way of earning him his first career selection on any of the two All-Defensive teams. What may have been his downfall in garnering more votes was the Wizards' overall struggles on that end of the floor ranking 24th in opponent's field goal percentage (46.6) and 21st with 107.4 points per game allowed.

That said, Wall can hold solace in the fact that he was named to the All-NBA third team earlier this month for the first time in his NBA career.
