The Kentucky Wildcats turned away the LSU Tigers in Wednesday night’s 71-66 win in Lexington for the team’s 12th victory in SEC play. It was also the second win in a row by John Calipari and his boys since losing to the Tennessee Volunteers on Feb. 15 and despite the fact that they missed the services of guards TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler – again.

It’s the second game that both Washington and Wheeler have sat out the game due to injuries, and it’s highly unlikely that either of them will be ready to go when Kentucky faces off with No. 18 Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Via Kyle Tucker of The Athletic:

Calipari on TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler: “They may not be ready in two days. We may have the same team going to Arkansas.”

Prior to the LSU game, No. 6 Kentucky took care of business against the No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide, scoring a huge 90-81 victory at home.

Washington and Wheeler are two of the most important players for Kentucky, which would definitely need the pair in order to make a deep run in the Big Dance. That said, the Wildcats still have the likes of double-double machine Oscar Tshiebwe, Kellan Grady, and Davion Mintz to rely on.

Kentucky only has three more games remaining on its regular-season schedule before entering the SEC tournament.
