Over the last several years, the Sacramento Kings have struggled to find any consistent level of success having missed the playoffs in 11 straight seasons.

However, there is a new sense of optimism around the organization stemming from the moves that front office has made over the offseason. Headlining the group is rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox. During a recently taped interview with Fox, former NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups had some high level of praise toward the 19-year-old.

Fox has an opportunity to etch out a significant role in his first season with the Kings that could see him become one of the promising core pieces to the puzzle. There is much hope within the organization that his success at the collegiate level with Kentucky could translate well to the NBA to become an All-Star caliber talent.

The fact that he's receiving this type of praise from Billups should give some credence to the type of potential he possesses on the court. In his lone season at Kentucky, Fox had a productive campaign averaging 16.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.0 rebounds. He is a quick guard that can create his own offense off the dribble while also being able to create for others.

The situation he is entering could quickly become a prime chance for him to develop into one of the league's promising young players.
