After being chosen as the replacement of Lonzo Ball in this weekend's NBA Rising Stars Game, Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox suffered a head injury during the team's game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, drawing blood and appearing to be in danger of missing the exhibition game as well. However, he has since received stitches on his chin as well as above the right eye, and after further evaluation, has been cleared by doctors to play on Friday night, according to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.

The fall he had on Wednesday was a scary sight and had many worried as to whether he suffered a concussion or an even more serious injury, but fortunately for him, that is not the case, and Fox can return to action Friday. The fifth overall pick of last June's draft definitely deserves being named as Ball's replacement, as he is having a solid rookie campaign for the Sacramento Kings, and is even playing better for them recently.

In 37 games so far this season, Fox is averaging 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 27.2 minutes for the Kings. With George Hill now in Cleveland and Sacramento looking to be stuck at the bottom part of the standings, they may give him more run later in the campaign in order for the Kentucky product to gain more experience. It will certainly be to his advantage as it will prepare him better for the coming years, where he is expected to be one of his team's cornerstones in their quest to become perennial playoff contenders once again.
