According to the latest rumors, the Sacramento Kings made a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for them to gain flexibility and hopefully re-sign Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Per Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Kings are confident that they can match any offer sheet for Bogdanovic who's going to be a restricted free agent come summer.

The 27-year-old Serbian is making  $8.5 million this year. After this season ends, the Kings will place a qualifying offer worth $10.66 million for Bogdanovic. Since he's a restricted free agent, he can sign a bigger offer sheet from another team in the event that he receives one. If he does receive one, Kings will have 48 hours to match that offer.

According to some analysts, Bogey is worth some $15 million to 18 million a season.

In 39 games (six starts), Bogey is averaging  14.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. He’s shooting 43.7 percent from the floor, 37.8 percent from the 3-point line and 69.2 percent from the charity stripe. Kings head coach Luke Walton has inserted him into the starting five and so far, Bogdanovic is doing relatively well with his new role.

Bogdanovic has been involved in various trade rumors for the past few weeks. Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets have reportedly vested interest in him. The Lakers perhaps see him as a possible piece to the championship puzzle. The Hornets, meanwhile, probably see Bogey as a critical player en route to hastening the rebuilding process.

From the looks of it, interested teams would have to wait until the season ends for Bogey. They better have some cap space since the Kings seem to be intent on keeping the Serbian.
