The New York Knicks bowed out in round two of the playoffs to Rick Carlisle and the Indiana Pacers, an outcome that took the wind of Jalen Brunson's sails as the Knicks' franchise savior.

The Pacers' gain was the city of New York's loss as a potential showdown with the rival Boston Celtics never came to fruition. On Thursday, Brunson joined host Taylor Rooks in a short video interview to address the alleged ‘turning point' of the series and Miller's comments about it.

Brunson's thoughts came during the latest round of rumors on the free agent possibilities of OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein. Knicks rising star Josh Hart hit Mikal Bridges with a savage response amid an attempted Nets recruitment.

Brunson's comments concern Hart's decision to tell Miller, who was working the game with TNT at the time, about ‘F-You' chants raining down at Madison Square Garden. Brunson told Rooks it wasn't the turning point in the series after all, a series that led to a deflating loss to the Eastern Conference Finalists from the Hoosier State.

Miller said recently that he “cannot stand the Knicks,” calling them “frontrunners.”

“They think that they're God's gift to basketball,” Miller said. “Fine, you can think that all you want. But don't front-run when you guys are up and then you guys wanna talk stuff.”

Miller pondered aloud why he was being “dragged into the series,” but added that he didn't think Hart was doing anything malicious by telling him what the chants were about.

Brunson shares honest thoughts on Miller comments

Brunson called Hart an “idiot” for telling Miller about the chants, but added that he didn't think it was the turning point in the series.

According to the former Villanova Wildcat, he “understands” where Miller was coming from when he said Hart shouldn't have brought him into the situation.

“But, Reggie did start the chirping,” Brunson said. “He said this, he said, the Boogeyman is coming back to New York, he said, ‘Why would I be scared to come back to New York'?”

“He said, I own this place.”

“Reggie Miller really loves this feud doesn't he lol,” one fan said in the comments on X with a crying emoji.

“Our hero,” another fan added.
