Julius Randle's 2021-22 season has been a poor one due to him and the New York Knicks not living up to their expectations. But it took a weird turn when the team stopped making Randle available to the media for a few weeks. New York got fined after Randle was held out from press conferences.

After the Knicks took down the LA Clippers to snap a three-game losing streak, Randle was made available for postgame questions. He made it clear that it was the franchise's decision to not allow him to speak to reporters after games.

Randle tallied 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists to help the Knicks take down the Clippers. It was a much-needed win, as it came after three bad home losses. RJ Barrett did most of the heavy lifting, scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, which all led the team. Randle and Barrett thriving together, rather than taking turns having big games, is a big key to turning the season around.

The Knicks are no stranger to weird scandals, though this one is much, much less spicy than those of the past few years. Although Randle got fined for his NSFW comments regarding Knicks fans, holding him out of media availability sessions is a terrible look for both parties. It seems like the situation is handled, but it won't areas the uneasiness of this Knicks season.

The Knicks, now 23-24 on the season, will look to continue their success on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers, though they will likely be without Mitchell Robinson, who sprained his ankle in the win.
