The New York Knicks are currently playing the Los Angeles Clippers and have received some bad news throughout the game.

Mitchell Robinson is out for the rest of the game after spraining his ankle in the third quarter, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

He was spotted walking back to the bench after suffering this injury and unable to put pressure on his ankle.

Mitchell Robinson has been playing excellent basketball this season, so this is a disappointing loss for the Knicks. He's averaging 8.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season.

The Knicks will now have to look for Obi Toppin to fill a larger role in the center position, which might be advantageous for them while he is out. Mitchell Robinson, fortunately, does not appear to be out for a lengthy period of time in the near future. So there's no need to be concerned about his not returning soon.

An injury is something that no athlete wants to experience, and it is awful when even a little ailment like this occurs. This might benefit the Knicks in the long run since they'll be able to get him fully recovered as soon as possible, and Obi Toppin will be able to play more minutes, which he sorely needs in the future.

The Knicks are now leading 93-82 in the fourth quarter, and they will want to finish the game and maintain playing solid basketball in January.
