Back in October, Sports Illustrated asked their staff an extremely difficult question. Several writers discussed the retirement of three bona fide basketball legends and which of them leaves the biggest hole in the league upon their departure.

During this summer’s off-season, the NBA lost ‘The Black Mamba’ Kobe Bryant, ‘The Big Fundamental’ Tim Duncan, and ‘The Big Ticket’ Kevin Garnett. All three players have left behind unforgettable legacies. Collectively, they boast 11 NBA championships, four MVP awards and 48 All-Star appearances.

Duncan, Garnett, and Bryant are all very different players. Garnett’s aggressive, intense demeanor changed the way many players approach the game. Duncan’s incredible consistency and professionalism is unmatched in any sport, ever. Bryant inspired millions, all over the globe with his deadly scoring and ruthless desire to win.

As the league now moves forward without these basketball greats, it’s worth reflecting once again and asking our readers the same question which can be answered by following this link.
