The Los Angeles Lakers notched another victory on Friday night in an impressive performance against the Miami Heat. That's now seven straight for the team from Hollywood, and for some, one man is at the very center of this tremendous winning streak: Alex Caruso.

At the moment, L.A. have won all seven games in which Caruso has played in, so it's now probably safe to say that he has been one heck of a lucky charm for the Lakers.

All jokes aside, though, Caruso has proven that he is much more than just a novelty item for the Lakers. He has played his role for the team to perfection, and while his production might not be as high as most would have expected (he is currently averaging just 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 17.7 minutes of action), he is still a very important piece in L.A.'s current rotation.

It is also worth noting that the 25-year-old has been racking up the defensive stats, averaging 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per ballgame in his rather limited time on the floor. He's also throwing down roughly 1.3 Sports Center-worthy dunks per contest, and those definitely serve as energy boosters not only for the entire team, but for the home crowd as well.

On Friday against the Heat, Caruso logged his usual 19 minutes, accounting for six points, three rebounds, four assists, and a blocked shot. His number are certainly not eye-popping, but it is clear that Caruso's contributions to the team go far beyond the box score.
