The sideline skirmish between Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard has already made the rounds on social media. The clip will probably serve as a visible manifestation for any dysfunction in the Los Angeles Lakers locker room this early into the season.

But what caused the altercation between the Lakers stars in the first place? Anthony Davis detailed what went down in the moments leading up to his on-court spat with Dwight Howard.

Via Spectrum SportsNet:

“Just a pick-and-roll scene,” said the Lakers forward. “That was it. All of us are still trying to figure it out on the defensive end. Something happened. I was saying one thing, he was saying another on the scheme and one thing led to another. Like I said, we talked about it and we left it in the locker room at halftime.”

Davis was seen trying to get Dwight Howard's attention as they both headed to the Lakers' bench during a timeout. Perhaps Dwight was freezing out AD at the time and tempers flared once they were face-to-face with one another on the bench.

The Los Angeles Lakers will look to bury this beef in the past as they look ahead to their next matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Getting their first win will go a long way in helping them keep the fire flaming against their opponents instead of on each other.
