Kobe Bryant's Lakers legend lives on roughly four and a half years after his death. On Saturday, June 8, former Laker Caron Butler shared a timeless, classic story of one of Bryant's most incredible game winning moments.

Butler's take was unveiled during a time when fellow Lakers alum Shaquille O'Neal shared a hilarious ‘chocolate bars' take on meeting Dirk Nowitzki's wife for the first time. Meanwhile, Magic Johnson revealed his rooting interest for the 2024 NBA Finals.

The action went down in Charlotte and included a take-charge moment from Kobe that will have fans reminiscing about the greatest of the ‘Black Mamba.'

Butler spoke to Mike Miller on ‘The OGs' talk show hosted by Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.

According to Butler, Bryant overrode the play his coach drew up in the huddle on a dry erase board. The plan was changed to ‘give me the ball and get the (heck) out of the way,' rather than the complex scheme his coach drew up. Butler couldn't recall the name of the Lakers' coach at the time, but said the play happened in Charlotte against the Hornets.

Bryant told his Lakers teammates to get out of the way in a hilarious fashion as he went on to work his magic.

Bryant's memory was also kept alive by Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum prior to Thursday's Game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks. Tatum wore a retro Celtics shirt similar to the one Bryant used to wear during warm-ups, an action that got plenty of love from NBA fans of all walks of life.

The Celtics are set to play the Mavericks in Game 2 on Sunday night at Boston's TD Garden. It's a big one not just for Celtics fans, but also for Lakers fans as Coach Joe Mazzulla's team looks to surpass the Lakers' all-time titles record. Both the Lakers and Celtics franchises are currently tied at 17 championships each, adding to the intrigue for NBA fans from coast to coast.
