Los Angeles Lakers guard Danny Green has been unfairly blamed for his team's lackluster showing in the NBA bubble. The top-seeded team in the Western Conference did not look like their usual dominant selves in Orlando, winning just three of their eight seeding games.

Green has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticisms after firing blanks inside the Walt Disney World. The usually accurate 3-and-D specialist missed a lot of open looks from downtown, only converting on 25.0 percent of his triples and 38.8 percent of his field goals for the Lakers.

“As a shooter that happens. You go through phases and lulls. But the odds are on my favor this point,” the Lakers swingman said as he described his shooting woes on Sunday.

“I'm looking at the positives, the bright side. I've not lost any confidence. I'm not hesitating in taking my shots. I feel very comfortable, feeling like I'm starting to get back to my normal self.”

Apart from claiming that he did not lose his confidence, the 33-year-old shooter also stressed that he will instead focus on the defensive side of the ball come playoff time.

Danny Green's defensive prowess will be vital for the Lakers in their best-of-seven first-round match against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The two-time NBA champion must keep up with Portland's explosive guard tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. With defensive specialists Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo likely out, Green's lockdown D will be crucial for the Lakers to avoid an upset from the streaking Blazers.

Furthermore, shooting woes are really nothing new for Danny Green. He also struggled to find his groove in last year's playoffs while playing for the Toronto Raptors. However, he eventually found his stroke in the Finals and played a big role in Toronto's upset of the Golden State Warriors in six games.
