With LeBron James out with injury, the Los Angeles Lakers were down three with just 7.8 ticks remaining on the clock against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Carmelo Anthony had just made two three-pointers in the last 40 seconds to keep the Lakers within striking distance for this very moment. But it was Russell Westbrook who kept the ball for their final possession, clanking the three on the back of the rim.

Russell Westbrook is no stranger to taking crunch time three-pointers in critical moments. The problem for the Lakers is that he doesn't exactly make them with efficiency. Russ has taken the most go-ahead or game-tying threes in the final minute than any player in the entire league in the last six seasons, but is a ghastly 19% in connecting on them.

For a player known for his lack of shooting ability, it's one of Russell Westbrook's more troubling characteristics. His aggression and confidence never wavers. While that's the reason behind a lot of his success in the past, it's also resulted in some less-than-desirable plays like this one during LA's last game vs. OKC.

Of course when LeBron James isn't sidelined, he'll be the one with the ball in his hands. But considering Russell Westbrook will serve as one of his floor-spacers during these situations down the line, this stat may get a few more data points as the season goes along. Lakers fans can only hope he bumps up his percentage points a tad in the process.
