The Los Angeles Lakers, who have the best record in the Western Conference, haven't had a formal practice since Nov. 30, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

The Lakers have the second-highest average age per player of the NBA’s 30 teams (28.5). LeBron James turns 35 in two weeks and has a ton of miles on his body:

“It brings with it a certain level of discomfort from my end in terms of always wanting to cross all your T’s and dot all your I’s,” Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said. “But these guys have earned it and rewarded me with the carry over from our team meetings and 1-on-1 meetings that we have with these guys.

“They’ve picked things up and they’ve learned and improved and grown away from the basketball court regularly throughout this year. It’s something that, we have a veteran group with the intelligence that this group has, it really is a great luxury because when you have an experienced team like us, you don’t want to be leaving their legs on the practice court. So you’ve got to make sure that you can improve away from the court and these guys have done that.”

The Lakers are 24-5. They will look to snap their two-game losing streak on Sunday when they host the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center.

Basketball fans can't wait for Christmas Day when the Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers face off. LeBron and Anthony Davis vs. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. It doesn't get much better than that.
