After receiving an invite for the Slam Dunk contest and reportedly already accepting it, Los Angeles Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. then suggested that he may not participate in it after all.

The 25-year-old Wyoming product took to his Twitter account and made it  known that not everything recently reported about him is true as he has not confirmed it yet. He warned his fans and followers not to fall for them and added that it's fake news.

Together with Aaron Gordon, Victor Oladipo and Dennis Smith Jr., the contestants are all considered strong contenders for the trophy as they have all proven that they can throw down vicious slams. Nance even pulled off one of the best dunks last year when he posterized his now teammate, Brook Lopez, with a tomahawk slam wherein he appeared like he paused in mid-air.

Should Nance indeed turn down the invite for him to join the All-Star Saturday main event, it could leave the door open for Donovan Mitchell or Terrance Ferguson to take over his spot. Many initially thought either of them could've received an invitation from the NBA, but it is also hard to deny the four original contestants as they are very much capable of giving the fans a highly entertaining show.

For now, Nance is still officially a contestant in next month's contest until he formally declines. However, it can also be expected that he will decide on it soon for the league office to finalize their list and possibly look for his replacement if he indeed skips it.
