LeBron James has finally broken his silence on the controversial Roe v. Wade overturn, and it is quite clear the Los Angeles Lakers star has some strong thoughts about it.

On Friday, the Supreme Court announced its ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, which put an end to women's constitutional right to abortion. This basically means that states now have the power to set their own abortion laws without conflicting with Roe, which previously permitted abortions during the first two trimesters of pregnancy.

Many perceived that it is an attack on women's rights, and several others see issues with the hit on reproductive health care that comes along with the landmark ruling.

In response, James expressed his disappointment on the matter. Replying to a tweet that stated that the decision was all about power and control, the Lakers star couldn't help but agree.

After the decision was officially announced on Friday — weeks after it was leaked — LeBron James retweeted various tweets sharing why the Roe v. Wade overturn was a major hit to women's rights.

The Lakers forward even shared the thoughts of former US President Barack Obama, who highlighted that “it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues- attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.”

For what it's worth, the NBA and WNBA have also made their stance clear on the issue as they vowed to continue advocating for freedom, gender and health equity, as well as better access to reproductive health care.
