During Los Angeles Lakers' bout against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, LeBron James did whatever it took to gain the advantage. The King even resorted to some less-than-glamorous flopping just to get the upper hand.

During a fight for a rebound, the four-time MVP got surrounded by four white shirts in the shaded lane. Soon enough, he found himself falling to the floor after receiving a slight contact from Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks.

James got the benefit of the doubt from the refs and was awarded two free throws. Replays, however, showed that the Lakers megastar completely sold that non-existent contact, much to the ire of the in-game announcers. Here's the clip.

As great as LeBron James has been throughout his career, he does have an unsavory reputation for flopping. Given his superstar status, the 4-time NBA champion usually gets rewarded for his Oscar-worthy acting chops such as this one. The Grizzlies broadcast team did not hide their displeasure with the call, claiming it was as bad as you can possibly imagine.

LeBron and the Purple and Gold are currently in second place in the Western Conference with a 20-6 slate entering Friday's match. They are seeking to extend their winning streak to seven games after coming out victorious in three straight overtime matches.
